How to Install

The post location or spacing is to be determined by the area to be supported by the post for the local soil capacity. The 10" and the 16" FootingPad™ supports 4" x 4", 4" x 6" or 6" x 6" deck posts.

  • Dig the hole a little larger than the pad in diameter
    and deep enough to be below the local frost line.
    Clean out loose soil and level the bottom
    of the hole.
  • Place the FootingPad into the hole smooth
    side down.
  • Use the post to tamp the FootingPad into place.
  • Position the post on the pad in the desired
    location.
  • Replace the dirt around the footing pad and compact

    office or lumber yard.

    to dig, call 1-800-BEFORE-YOU-DIG 48 hours-10 days before you plan
    to start digging.
  • Print and take the FootingPad™ test results with you to the local
    Municipal Building Department to get your building permit.
